Brisbane Sings is a fun, uplifting and highly entertaining show that demonstrates all that is wonderful about singing in a community choir. Watch the magic happen when all the choirs come together in a massed choir of well over 600 voices with the stage band, all while supporting their charity partner Actors’ & Entertainers’ Benevolent Fund (ABF) (Qld) Inc. All tickets include a $5 donation to ABF Qld.
We are thrilled to have the voice behind Australian Siri Karen Jacobsen as our guest artist. |

An award-winning singer and songwriter, Karen recently launched her Misogyny Opus album, a pop-orchestral work of Julia Gillard's misogyny speech. If you haven't already heard the single Better Standard Than This, watch the music video.
Karen’s musical career highlights include sharing the bill with Norah Jones, Christopher Cross, Neil Sedaka and Spyro Gyra as well as singing “The Star Spangled Banner” at Madison Square Garden, Dodger Stadium and Giants Stadium for 80 000 Jets fans. |
Brisbane Sings is a community event featuring choirs and singing groups from all over the city performing separately and together. A massed choir of 500 voices and a stage band will join to present a highly entertaining show that celebrates group singing in a non-competitive environment. The event is fun, uplifting and a great chance for various musical and community groups to share ideas and create lasting and memorable experiences for their members.

I can barely walk today and still have big hair but the smile on my face will not be fading anytime soon.

What a wonderful celebration of singing and choirs, brought together in the most perfect concert program. We were honoured to be included and delighted to have the chance for our members to shine, and be accepted and applauded for their talents and hard work.

What an amazing buzz. At dress rehearsal I just had to look back and see everyone while we were mid song, everyone dancing, having the best of times... what an amazing sight.

The 'spirit' that emanated form all the choirs on the concert hall stage was palpable and every one of our singers was affected by it.

I was privileged to perform beside my mum tonight. After the show, my 7 year old’s first comment was “when I’m a grown up, I want to do Brisbane Sings with you, Mummy”.

Despite Covid-19 and its challenges in 2021, Brisbane Sings still found time to gather community choirs and celebrate the joy of singing together. With the financial support from the Brisbane City Council, Brisbane Sings adapted and QSC produced a music video to celebrate Brisbane and its community, singing in various iconic Brisbane locations.
Riversong is a celebration of so many things - joyous singing, energetic performing, our beautiful city Brisbane, and most importantly, community. In contrast to our usual home in the QPAC Concert Hall, Brisbane Sings took the celebration of community singing outside, to many iconic Brisbane landmarks, with seven community choirs. Our slogan - "One Community, One Voice" - is paraphrased in the song's chorus "When people come together in a city or a song, we find a place where we can all belong". |
